Excitement ensues at 10 Jay Street.
Renda Morton, Andy Pressman and I have started a studio called Rumors. Check out our new webpage.

I was honored to be able to contribute to the NY Times Op-Ed page on July 4. Check out this map I made.

Also - both The New York Times Magazine (and Print) magazine were honored with a bunch of awards from the Society of Publication Designers: a Gold Medal for Magazine of the Year, Gold and Silver medals for Design / Entire Issue and Design / Entire Story for The College Issue and New York Issues respectively.

Also - in more random press coverage - I was featured as a "Global Girl" in the June issue of Korean Elle Girl. I will try to post a hilariously confusing translation soon. In the meantime, there are some photos on the 801a blog of the issue arriving if you want to see it with your own eyes.

For a short while this summer, I worked as the Associate Art Director at Jane, until the magazine folded in July. Watch the drama UNfold on "The Fashionista Diaries."

I recently completed a few projects: film titles for a short called "Stars and Suns" directed by Sarah Soquel Morhaim, and an invitation for Ohne Titel, co-designed with Anthony Smyrski. I am in the midst of a project for the excellent mag Good, and designing for the New York Times Magazine for couple of months.

I will be permanently relocating to Brooklyn as of June 1.

Many thanks to The Style Press, who featured me on their site in April.
Print Magazine's European Design Annual is on newstands now. I designed the Euro Design feature.
Last month, I worked with my friends at Circle and Square on The Live Earth Global Warming Survival Handbook, which will be coming out in June. More info to follow.

New Projects

"Locally Localized Gravity"

I worked with Space 1026 to design and build this installation for the Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia. The exhibition will be on view until March 25, 2007.

Also upcoming in March is the release of "REAL LIFE Magazine: Selected Writings and Projects 1979-1994." I designed this amazing book for Primary Information. It's the first anthology of REAL LIFE, a seminal publication which contains a wealth of writing, criticism, and special projects from artists who flourished in the 80s downtown art scene.

from amazon.com:
"Published in 23 intermittent black-and-white issues from 1979-1994, Real Life was devoted to providing an outlet for a circle of artists who did not feel properly represented in the mainstream art world at the time—many of whom are now grouped with the Pictures and Post-Pictures artists. The anthology features both artists and art historians writing on art, media and popular culture—oftentimes infusing a new kind of humor into their cultural critiques—as well as original pictorial contributions. It includes writings by and about Eric Bogosian, Kim Gordon, Dan Graham, Barbara Kruger, Thomas Lawson, Allan McCollum, John Miller, Matt Mullican, Richard Prince, David Robbins, Michael Smith, Ed Ruscha, Jeff Wall and Lawrence Weiner, to name a few, as well as visual projects by Sherrie Levine, James Welling, Felix Gonzalez-Torres and Group Material, among others. Working with super-smart people can really transform almost any job into a dream job.

Check out Very Short List, a media / entertainent / culture newsletter I helped design this past summer. Subscribe to the beta version here. With editors Kurt Andersen and Simon Dumenco and art direction by Number 17, this was definitely an amazing learning process. We've already been gawked twice.

I'll be working FT at the Space through November (maybe longer…). New projects for The Onion and Random House, yay.

This crazy summer is nearing to an end (already). Thanks to all the people who let me sleep on their couches.

Lots of site updates in the next couple weeks: At Number 17 this summer, worked on stuff for the Type Directors Club and assorted identity projects. Jenna Wainwright's jewelry boutique has opened in Chinatown and I helped them with their identity and store design. New packaging projects for Lion Brand Yarn. A catalog for Elsewares, e-marketer of independent designers. Articles on supernaturale.com. You can pre-order the Craftivity book here. Various web and print work for nonprofit Peer Health Exchange. This fall I'll be setting up the studio in Philly and working on my magazine / interview project, Typical Girls. *Phew*

04/26/06: Everybody's got a hungry heart.
So… After a few refreshing months in Pennsylvania, I'll be back in New York for the summer to work on a very fun new project. I will working on the weekends at my studio at Space 1026 in Philly, which I am ecstaticly sharing with the lovely Mary Chen and the delightful Courtney Dailey.

03/24/06:
I heart Philly. People are kind-hearted here, they say hello and let you know what's up and don't push you as much in the street. Check out all the lovely work from the lovely folks at Gina and Matt, Headcase Design, Heads of State, and Space 1026.

I just finished up some work for the Kimmel Center and Elsewares. I'll be in NYC from 3/27 - 4/7, so drop me a line if you want to do lunch or something.

02/21/06:
Welcome to my very first website. Major update in progress. Please bear with me as I attempt to webify my work. If you notice anything that doesn't seem right, please let me know.

02/19/06:
Hello Philadelphia! After two years at Flat, I'm temporarily(?) on hiatus from NYC. I like it here!
